Zoey is the firm's best PR person, and does non know she's working for vampires, or vampire hunters. After the death of her husband years before, she has taken life past the horns and remained thing-of-fact, driven, and cold. She is certainly not going to let her new customer in to her centre, despite an odd attraction and the fact that she'southward been dreaming of him every night since a chance meeting and a failed hook upward.
Andre feels the same way. He was bound by blood once, and when that bail was broken...well, he's not going to do that again. Nope. Definitely non.
Le sigh. Don't even get me started on Lucas and Pedro. <3
The characters are real, the setting is gorgeous. Some of the incidents are intense, so be forewarned. I can't wait to see what happens next!!!

This volume is an absolute must read for fans of The Black Dagger Brother series. I struggled to put it downward one time. When I picked it up once again, I read the rest straight through.Blood Vine centers of the story of Zoey, sent to create a PR campaign for a new wine. Zoey presently discovers that her new client is a familiar face, one she'due south been unable to forget since their almost 1-night stand up. While she grapple with her unwanted emotion for a human being she inappreciably knows, she doesn't realize her boss has knowingly set her in the heart of an ancient conflict betwixt Vampires and Vampire hunters.
Amber Belldene weaves the history and realistic sociology of her vampires flawlessly. Her writing is descriptive and emotive but doesn't go bogged downwards in unimportant details and equally the outcome, the story flows effortlessly.
The characters are diverse with not a cut out in sight. Each is instilled with a personality, motive, and flaws. Love them or hate them for their actions, they jump off the page and will non be ignored. The master pairing are both shaped by tragedy of circumstance and must overcome their own barriers to be together. The internal conflict of both seemed existent and heartbreaking.
As far as I'k aware, in that location is some other book to come. That's good because in that location is obviously however loose ends and a huge cast of characters to explore. The ending left me satisfied and yet, craving more of this globe, the story, and characters.

The minute I received this information on this book, I was intrigued. I was eager to get-go and see just how this spin on the vampire world would play out and I gotta say…WOW! This story was a-freaking-mazing!
Zoey is a talented PR amanuensis working for a successful business firm in California. She's beautiful, immature and should be feeling similar she's got it all…only she knows she doesn't. She's been mourning the decease of her husband for a few years now and has put up an icy wall that no one will exist able to penetrate. It's easier that way. After all, if y'all don't let people in, you can't go hurt if they leave. And so she'due south managed to go along her honey life to a fling with her dominate and one attempt at a one-night stand with a handsome stranger she met in a bar. However, for some reason, the infinitesimal she laid eyes on that stranger, she knew there was something more to him and information technology was a bad idea…so she shored upwardly her icy reserve and left him where he sat on the barstool. Imagine her surprise when the owner of the vineyard she'due south at present representing is the very same human being she left sitting on the barstool….
Andre is a centuries sometime vampire living on his vineyard and desperately trying to come with a cure for the disease that is slowly killing him and his fellow vampires. Since the Hunters, a group of zealots hell-bent on wiping out the vampire race, have exiled him and hundreds of other vampires class Croatia, he has been working on a cure and believes he's finally plant it….in the wine he has made using the vines from his homeland. Now, with the help of a PR firm, he needs to go word out to his young man refugees. Could it be fate has more in shop for him when the adult female that left him dumbfounded, sitting on a barstool months earlier is the very same adult female sent to help with his PR piece of work?
Together, Zoey and Andre, along with his friends, business firm staff and two sons, they accept the fight of a lifetime ahead of them. The Hunters are closing in, the wine and the vineyard demand to remain safe and then the vampire race can be cured, and they demand to figure out if this allure between them is something worth exploring.
This book kicked ass. I know, I know…we've all read a 1000000 vampire stories but this is a book I highly recommend no matter how many vampire tales yous've explored. The dynamic betwixt the characters is fantastic. Every move Zoey made in this book is EXACTLY what I would take done. She wasn't unrealistic or overly emotional. She took things at face value and was level headed where many other heroines would have gone into hysterics. I really appreciated Zoey's genuineness. She was stiff and stoic when she needed to be even so somehow kept her soft side. Andre is delicious. He is kind, adamant, responsible and oh-then utterly male. His love for his sons and for the staff that helps him in his quest to salvage the vampire race, is and then endearing. He is a human being who knows what he wants at when push comes to shove, he gets it.
Along with Zoey and Andre, we meet Lucas and Pedro, who are astonishing. They absolutely broke my eye…I cannot wait to see what the time to come holds for them. Andre's sons, Kos and Bel, are also characters that capture your heart equally well and I as well am excited to run across what happens for them in this series. This book had everything I love in a great story…love, loss, conflict, devious villains, heroes and heroines worth rooting for and great originality.
I won't become into too much more particular, because I am not a spoilery kind of gal, but I will tell you lot this….put this book on your to-read list and settle in for a great read. I absolutely LOVED this volume and see this series becoming a success we will be talking about for some time. Thank you, Bister, for a remarkable read!

What also worked for me was the whole storyline. Even with smashing characters, if the story is lame then the characters are a waste product. That was not a problem hither. I accept read several vampire books and I imagine as a writer information technology is difficult to come up with a new or artistic plot. Bister's story of exiled vampires being bound to their homeland and the potential of this special wine to save them was actually interesting. I loved the interweaving of winemaking and "chemistry" throughout the story. I also appreciated the community aspect of how much these vampires loved their fellow vampires and wanted to help them. This was also a great mode to get to know the Hunters and their link to the vampires. The Hunter aspect was really intriguing, and I loved reading their history with the vampires only also knowing there is so much more we don't know near them but will notice out in later books. I will remain spoiler-free, but I will say that I had a difficult fourth dimension putting this volume down and was immediately engulfed in this world that Amber created. I never felt like there was a dull moment - the tension between the characters completely drew me in, the plot development was multi-layered, and the activity scenes felt existent and were even quite brutal at times. At that place were twists and turns and I loved it all.
And of course in that location is romance. I enjoyed watching the attraction and interest betwixt Andre and Zoey play out. They both have personal histories that have complicated their perception of relationships and even their want to have them. I really appreciated how the aspects of their pasts and present played out. Their inner conflict felt honest and realistic. Their chemistry was pouring off the pages. But the existent dazzler was how they understood each other and made each other better. But would all those good things exist enough to become past the differences between them? I really loved watching how all this played out.
Bottomline: I loved the start of this series. The characters were the highlight for me, every bit well as an intriguing plot that drew me right in, and clean writing. I don't know how many book at that place volition be, but I plan on starting the next one immediately.

I received this book a while dorsum for review from the writer and though information technology took me quite some time to actually go to it (you know, so many books, so little time...) —and trust me, I wish I had read it sooner now — I finally read information technology! I just want to thank to writer again for existence so prissy to send the paperback version to me. This book was quite a ride for me and I really experience like I plant a new favorite series to add to my shelves! <331-twelvemonth-onetime Zoey Porter who works equally a PR person. Every since her hubby died, she puts up a wall trying to continue people, especially men, at a distance. She doesn't even let her boss, Ethan, who she's sleeping with, go close to her. When her firm sends her to the winery of a new customer, Andre, she'southward startled to find out he's the one she had an near one-night stand with him over a year ago. Surprisingly, Andre ignites feelings within her she thought died forth with her hubby. But Andre isn't an ordinary human being and has secrets... Secrets that will change everything for Zoey and that volition drag her into a earth of claret, passion and possibly love.
Age-old Andre Maras is a vampire who has been driving from his homeland in Croatia a long fourth dimension ago and suffers from the wasting disease but thinks to have finally institute a cure in the wine he makes. He wants to non merely cure himself but likewise his fellow refugees. When Zoey arrives at his estate to aid them with the PR of the wine, he has to command his urges to bite her in fear of claret bonding with her. The one thing he vowed to never do again is bond with someone after the dead of his married woman. But the thing about Zoey is, he can't stay away from her.
Zoey was an engaging chief character to read almost. I liked her from the kickoff and all her reactions to Andre, also when she establish out what he is was nicely done by the author. I too loved how she fabricated friends with the women in Andre'south household. I liked that she opened up a little to them too and non only Andre.
I must admit though equally a grapheme on his ain Andre wasn't my favorite character from everyone in the book only it wasn't similar I disliked him or annihilation. I did love him and Zoey together. They had and then much chemistry and some very passionate romantic scenes. Gotta love that! And, damn, I loved the catastrophe!
I oasis't been this excited about a vampire book in quite a while, plainly. Lately all vampire books I read were mediocre to say the least. Simply Blood Vine? It was astonishing! I was really surprised past how expert it was and how fascinated I was past the story. Amber Belldene did such a great job making the volume so interesting to read, not just about the vampires but also near all the other characters and the winery too. Blood Vine is definitely different compared to other vampire books. It's such an original story and it does non merely characteristic Zoey and Andre. And though I love reading most both of them, I am likewise so intrigued and excited to learn more near the other characters like Andre's sons, Kos and Bel. I admit I was the tiniest but obsessed with them. *fans herself* I also loved Pedro (he's a riot!) and Lucas (who'due south Ethan'south brother) and then so and then much. I tin't even start to explain how much I hope they're going to end upwardly together. With some unexpected events their whole human relationship has become very intriguing.
Ethan is a whole unlike story. He's what we would call the bad guy in the book. And being a vampire hunter he has his own twisted reasons for wanted Andre, his sons and his whole household dead. Basically, he's a bounder. But damn it if I don't beloved reading about bad guys. I wonder what he's going to be upwards to next and how it will continue all!
There were a lot of facts about how a winery works that I never knew before. I loved the aspects about it and how it all fits together with vampires and what they discovered about that wine. Apparently the author knew a lot about stuff like this and did practiced research and that'south what every writer should practise.
Amber Belldene'due south writing was flawless. Yeah, it was. I have no negatives to say It was fast-paced, ever entertaining and I loved the multiple points of view so we could learn more about the others too. Much dearest for that!
An imaginative, romantic and arresting read, Blood Vine by Amber Belldene had me quickly hooked with its intriguing story almost vampires and vine yards. In brusque; I loved it. I was captivated by the story and the characters the autor created. Information technology was one of the best books I take read so far this year and can't look to get my hands on the second book because I just need more. I would highly recommend Claret Vine to everyone!

I actually wanted to love this book. And at that place were aspects of it that I did love. But, as usual with vampire romance, I had some problems with it. Full disclose: I've never read a vampire romance that I loved whole-heartedly so if you're a regular vampire reader, my objections will undoubtedly be completely irrelevant ones. The premise is that Zoey Porter arrives at a winery owned by vampire Andre Maras to help with a branding entrada for their new wine. Andre hopes to salve his association from the wasting disease they have been suffering from since they were forced out of their homeland by the Hunters. Both protagonists accept suffered from tragedy in their past relationships and every bit a result, their chemical science keeps pushing them together and pulling them apart.
Get-go, the likes. The world-building here is robust and interesting. Belldene has adult an unabridged mythology effectually the vampires and the Hunters that seems capable of conveying a series. Next, the characters didn't generally make me want to drib-kicking them into adjacent calendar week. The ii,000 twelvemonth old vampire hero felt erstwhile to me in a mode that nearly vampire heroes don't. He wasn't but broody or full of anachronistic mannerisms. He felt similar an "older guy" fifty-fifty if I would take guessed his historic period to be closer to a fit 50 than two,000. He besides has a couple of sons (both biological and not), one of whom is attempting scientific research on vampires via chemistry, which I found very entertaining. At that place is also a proficient agreement vino chemical science here that was fun for this California daughter and I loved the winery setting.
But, there were also some dislikes. The portrayal of evil here is not fifty-fifty remotely nuanced. The antagonists are psychotic torturer rapists with no motivation beyond hatred. I know that vampires are traditionally monsters and that in a novel that features one equally a hero, we demand to be able to trust and root for him, simply it seems similar vampire romances always accept this as well far in the other direction when drawing upward villains. Next, though the heroine shows more than the typical agency for a vampire novel, she still needs rescuing like, all the fourth dimension. And the i fourth dimension where she could make a difference, she goes charging back to our hero with knowledge he already has.
My last problem is kinda spoilery: (view spoiler)[i of the secondary characters is turned over the course of the story and the Hunter he feeds from in his offset moments every bit a vampire appears to grant him some special powers like an absence of the blood lust that traditionally plagues newly-made vampires. I go that the characters aren't yet sure what causes this and don't empathise the full implications nevertheless, but why on world wouldn't they have offered the Hunter to the heroine when she gets turned at the stop of the book? It merely seemed stupid when the author goes to some length to depict a whole passel of extremely intelligent characters (hide spoiler)]. I'm fine with characters having selective cognition, but vampire romances ever seem to pick and cull which character knows what with more than carelessness than I always appreciate.
Hey, if you love vampire romance, you lot'll probably love this. And while it wasn't equally bad as some I've read, information technology still fell far short of my hopes and expectations. I hear that this author has a contemporary coming out soon though and I volition definitely exist trying that as I recall her handling of emotional conflict and her understanding of the pain of everyday trials and tribulations is quite remarkable. I'chiliad not crossing her off my list. But it's going to take some time before I'm willing to endeavour another vampire novel.

Zoey and Andre' are soulmates.
That's articulate from the commencement of the novel, and watching them overcome their internal and external ghosts left me turning page subsequently page to find how they'd end upward with their happily-e'er-after. This volume is romance at its best. These flawed characters drew me in. I'm recommending it as a choice for my next book club read.
The principal characters tantalize, simply the sub-plots in this debut novel weave a rich tapestry validating Andre' & Zoey's love story. The way Andre' cares for his family is whole, and colorful, and heroic. Complicated, and valiant. Because of the depth of Andre's longing to set his globe right, the secondary characters are loyal, and amazingly fatigued by Belldene's mitt. I tin can't wait to read more in this series. Kos and Lena, Bel and his crew, and Lucas and Pedro all lend glimpses into this wonderful landscape of characters.
The chief antagonist Ethan is a puzzle. His convictions motivate him to finish Andre'south world in a valid show of strength that makes me dear to detest him, and all his followers.
Oh, and did I mention the sizzling beloved scenes? Integral to the character'south development, they read as natural equally breathing. Definitely not to be missed, they are written with elegance, and divine heat.
Care for yourself to Blood Vine.
I recall this is a Good Read.

If there are more of you out in that location, please let me know. There is a trope often used in fiction, the "I was hurt and so badly in the past I can never risk my heart again" idea that I think is basically mendacious. All of usa are hurt in our lives and all of us proceed going. That was the one matter I didn't like most this book. The two main characters are stuck in this way of thinking, even when it is obvious to the reader that they are the respond to each other'due south prayers could they merely get past their ain fine selves.
The backstory fascinated me. There is a deep mystery here and I can only believe that the truth is far dissimilar than what the characters believe. I will eagerly read more in the series just to find out how that worked out.
Another characteristic I liked was that the writer did not shy away from the heartbreak that is schizophrenia and what it was like for Zoey to dear her husband who had adult onset. Besides many authors accept belittled people with mental illness as if it is something a person has a selection near. Belldene is non one of those authors.
Although I am very curious about Aunt Pearl, who remembers to transport Zoey a birthday card every day. Hoping to see Pearl.
The main characters are developed three-dimensional people every bit are the supporting characters within what I think of as the castle. The opponents are, I am sad to say, rather clichely written. I desire a reason to feel some sympathy for Edward and what he has been taught but at that place was nothing to grab a concord of.
A complex plot fascinates me. I felt that Belldene has a good grasp of her overall story and that has me looking forward to finishing the second in the series which I have already started.

Amber Belldene grew up on the Florida panhandle, swimming with alligators, climbing oak trees and diving for scallops…when she could pull herself away from a book. As a child, she hid her Nancy Drew novels inside the church bulletin and read mysteries during sermons—an irony that is non lost on her when she preaches these days.
Bister is an Episcopal Priest and student of religion. She believes stories are the best way to explore man truths. Some people call back information technology is strange for a government minister to write love stories, simply it is perfectly natural to her, because the human desire for love is at the middle of all the all-time books and God made people with that want. She lives with her hubby and two children in San Francisco and loves chatting with readers and other authors on social media!
